Jessica Cecchini
I am an art educator, life-long learner and now a business owner. Over the last 21+ years, I have honed my skills teaching lessons on an abundance of art materials and techniques, but my love for watercolor has always stayed strong (Thank You Mr. Yothers!).
Around 2007, I bought a Speedball screenprinting kit and haven’t stopped since! I even attended a class at John C. Campbell Folk School in order to learn how to make inks with natural materials like cochineal bugs, marigolds, indigo and more.

Image: Handmade Paper from Penland Workshop
Each summer, I search for professional development opportunities that will fulfill some of the CEUs I need to have to renew my licensure as a teacher. In 2024, I took a 10-day long paper making workshop at Penland. Along with being back-breaking, I learned a ton and have now added paper casting and paper making into my lessons at school.

In My Leisure Time:
You will often find me in nature taking closeup shots of mushrooms; however, my husband and I love to travel, hike, kayak and ride our motorcycles. I am often the “typical tourist” with a camera hanging around my neck, but I really appreciate the quiet moments sitting on the porch of a cabin in the mountains, painting the landscape in one of my travel sketchbooks.
